Nutty Chalcedony

Nutty chalcedony is a mixture of jasper breccias set in a chalcedony interlace. The amounts of each can be quite varied.

Overall the material is highly siliceous and cuts well with diamond wheels.  A super polish is easily obtained in vibro tumblers whilst hand polishing with diamond compounds delivers even more spectacular water gloss results.

Nutty chalcedony can be drusy, though this can normally be turned to advantage when superb cabochons with crystal vug relief's may be produced.

15cm long by 9cm wide and 6mm flange and weighs grams.

This slab is free of cracks. It has about 20% crystal lined vugs, and will produce 4 to 5 large cabs.
